Site Characterization
Site Characterization
Peak technical staff has the experience and resources to safely and efficiently characterize soil, groundwater and vapor conditions in accordance with technical regulations for petroleum, solvent, historic fill, PCB, metals, and emerging contaminant investigations. Backed by a comprehensive staff training program and our NJDEP laboratory certification, Peak consistently obtains data of known quality to ensure effective decision-making regarding additional investigation or remediation. To this end, our sampling plans are developed by our LSRPs and senior managers, and cost-effectively achieve characterization goals while maintaining compliance with technical regulations. Our degreed field staff are responsible for collection of samples, coordination with laboratories and contractors, managing results and tabulating/plotting data for interpretation. Peak then utilizes collected data to apply attainment tools allowed under regulations to demonstrate compliance with standards and minimizing future work. When site conditions are complex, Peak has the experience to develop conceptual site models, utilize contaminant fate and transport models, and apply environmental forensics to interpret site conditions, determine attainment of standards, and support remedial decision making.
Safety is a top priority at our project sites, and our staff are empowered to stop work when unsafe conditions or activities are encountered until the condition is remedied. Our experience managers pre-plan safety requirements with on-Site personnel and manage property logistics to minimize effects on facility operations.
