Trenton, NJ, November 2024. The NJDEP has extended the comment period for their proposed changes and additions to the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA). The intent of the changes is to further simplify the remedial action permit process, streamline implementation of the licensed site remediation professional program, make technical changes and corrections, and clarify language where needed. SRRA 2.0 Act became effective on August 23, 2019, and is a critical law that connects NJ statutes and regulations, including the Spill Compensation Control Act (Spill Act), Brownfield and Contaminated Site Remediation Act (Brownfield Act). and the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA). The proposal indicated that written comments may be submitted by December 20, 2024. The public comment period is now extended until Friday, January 31, 2025. The proposal can be found on the NJDEP Notice of Rules Proposals page. To discuss your project, contact Jeff Campbell or Kassidy Klink.
