Remediation Cost Estimates
Remediation Cost Estimates
Estimating the lifecycle cost estimate of a remediation project is a common task to support evaluation of a property for purchase, to support financing or insurance policy development, to comply with regulatory requirements, to support remedial alternative selection, and other purposes. Peak’s cost estimate model provides the flexibility to meet each of these purposes, and provides options for different remedial outcomes, assumptions regarding contaminant behavior, and variable project durations.
A common outcome of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is the determination that an environmental liability is present and can be quantified. Peak can provide a cost-to-cure estimate for the environmental liability present. A Phase I ESA may determine that an environmental liability is present at the subject site that cannot be quantified without either performing a Phase II investigation or actual remediation of the issue. For these conditions Peak can provide a “worst case scenario” estimate for an environmental issue.
For release investigations and remediations, Peak can provide cost estimates using compliant methods specified in regulations. Peak professionals utilize their extensive technical and regulatory experience to identify reasonable assumptions on which to determine a likely project path, identify the required steps to complete the path, and assign typical costs to each step. The result is a reliable cost estimate for submittal to regulatory agencies. For property valuation, insurance and financing support, Peak can provide multiple scenarios, likely price ranges and other flexible options to ensure most appropriate costs are assigned to an estimate. Peak managers work closely with our clients to ensure their goals are met.
